Physical Education

The physical education program at Araluen Primary School plays a pivotal role in promoting holistic development and well-being. Regular exercise improves physical health and enhances cognitive function concentration and mood. Our program fosters a positive attitude towards health and fitness. It provides opportunities for social interaction, leadership, and personal growth while encouraging students to develop into healthy, resilient individuals capable of facing life's challenges with confidence.

Language

Arauen students engage in weekly whole-school Auslan lessons. Where all F-6 students can meet and learn Auslan together.

Music

Enrichment Programs

Camps

School camps are part of the education program for Year 3 to 6 students at Araluen Primary School. They are invaluable experiences that extend learning well beyond the classroom. Camps foster independence, resilience, and social skills as students engage in outdoor activities, team challenges, and cultural immersions. Camps provide opportunities for experiential learning where students apply academic knowledge in real-world contexts. They strengthen bonds between peers and teachers, fostering a sense of belonging and community by helping students to step outside of their comfort zones. Our camps encourage students to develop confidence and adaptability - essential traits for navigating life's adventures. Each year, our Year 2 students have a sleepover at school, Year 3/4 participate in an adventure camp, and Year 5/6 go on a Metro camp.

Swimming

The swimming program at Araluen Primary School is vital for promoting water safety fitness and confidence by teaching essential swimming school students to develop the ability to enjoy aquatic activities safely reducing the risk of water-related incidents. Swimming enhances physical health cardiovascular fitness and overall wellbeing. Our sessions, which are conducted by qualified AUSTSWIM-trained professionals, instill confidence in the water and empower students to overcome fears and challenges. We aim to foster a lifelong love for swimming and aquatic sports and equip students with crucial water skills and confidence.

VSSS

The State School Spectacular is a vibrant showcase that celebrates the talents and creativity of primary school students across the state. This event provides a platform for young performers to shine, showcasing their skills in music, dance, drama, and more. Through collaborative rehearsals and exhilarating performances, students not only hone their artistic abilities but also develop teamwork, discipline, and confidence. The State School Spectacular fosters a sense of pride and accomplishment among participants, as they come together to deliver unforgettable moments of entertainment and inspiration for audiences statewide. 

Choir

Currently, our primary school choir is a vibrant ensemble of talented young singers coming together to explore the joy of music through collective harmony. Led by our dedicated music teacher, the choir rehearses regularly, refining their vocal skills and preparing for upcoming performances. From school assemblies to local events, our choir members eagerly showcase their talents, spreading the joy of music throughout our school community. Through their participation, students not only develop their musical abilities but also cultivate important values such as teamwork, discipline, and confidence, making our choir a cherished part of our school culture.
