Transition into Primary School - Foundation
At Araluen Primary School, we believe in the power of routines and balanced learning experiences to support the emotional and interpersonal growth of our young learners as they transition to Foundation.
Routines provide a comforting framework for our students, helping them feel secure and confident in their daily activities. From the morning routine to storytime before home, our consistent schedule fosters a sense of stability, allowing children to focus on their learning and build important life skills like responsibility and time management.
As we introduce more structured learning, we do so gradually, ensuring that our children feel supported and engaged every step of the way. While literacy and numeracy lessons are important, we also prioritise hands-on activities and play-based learning opportunities. Whether it's building with blocks in the classroom or exploring nature in our outdoor space, every experience is a chance for our students to discover, create, and learn in a meaningful way.
Through this balanced approach, our small school environment provides a nurturing setting where children can develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally. By fostering a sense of community and encouraging collaboration, we empower our students to grow into confident and compassionate individuals, ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
