Our Camps and Excursions Program
At Araluen Primary School Camps and Excursions are an important area of the curriculum. These activities form an integral part of the school program in which the input and attendance of parents is encouraged.
Camps are designed to build upon the studies undertaken in the classroom.
Grades 5/6 participate in a camp every year which alternates between very distinct styles of camps.
Currently these are; an adventure based program using Karoonda Park Gelantipy where children may participate in ropes courses, learn to use their initiative, bush skills, horse riding and white water rafting.

The second style of camp is a study tour which takes place in Ballarat. The students visit such sites as Eureka Stockade, Sovereign Hill and take a mine tour.

Grades 3/4 participate in a camp every second year to Coonawarra Camp where children may participate in flying fox, high and low ropes courses, canoeing and raft building.

These camps are designed to assist and build upon the studies undertaken by the students in their classes.
